In the summer of 2011, a few friends got together for a little bit of a jam and to have a little fun with country music. Between them they had many many years on the UK country circuit. Within a few hours they knew that they had found something special. The seeds of Denver Drive were formed. A few weeks of hard practice and the band hit the road in September, to great feedback and reviews from clubs and magazines alike. The first few months were like a whirlwind for the band, becoming very popular very quickly. So much so that it soon became obvious that Denver Drive would take over all of the time of the members. With a few prior commitments to be honoured the band finally settled with the current line up. Steve Ryder- vocals/guitars, Tom Marshall – Bass/vocals, Harry Els – Pedal Steel, Lead guitar, slide guitar, banjo, mandolin and Ernie Bell – Drums. Denver drive are primarily about having fun, they fully enjoy everything they do and this comes across on stage. Take some of the tried and tested and loved classics – performed with the unique Denver drive style, add some of the rarely performed hits, and throw in a couple of self penned tracks and you have a typical Denver Drive show.
Going from strength to strength, week by week, these lads are really enjoying themselves and this can be seen onstage by all, listeners and dancers alike. They give a show to remember. Classic traditional country with a new modern twist.
